Little Earth Montessori Kapiti is a small enviro preschool for children 3-6 years old, committed to combining academic excellence and the joy of learning, and to inspiring the sense of wonder of the natural world.
Our belief is that each child is unique. We respect each child’s personality and we trust in the limitless potential of each individual. We believe that genuine experiences are a pathway to purposeful and meaningful learning.
Our mission at Little Earth Montessori Kapiti is to provide an exceptional Montessori educational environment which enables each child to become an independent, joyful and courageous learner with a keen self-knowledge.
The mission is best accomplished by:
- Providing an integrated living curriculum adhering to the highest Montessori standards, informed by current thinking and research on child development and learning;
- Creating an environment with a sense of purpose and place where children are engaged in genuine learning experiences;
- Reconnecting our children with the natural world by acknowledging the oneness and unity of all living things;
- Recognising that personal growth involves care, responsibilities, and understanding towards others and the earth and embedding these values as a frame of mind;
- Fostering a love of learning, inspiring a sense of wonder, and sharing practical wisdom;
- Facilitating and valuing the involvement of parents, teachers, children and the larger community.
